FIDIC (International Federation of Consulting Engineers) uphold sustainable and fair policies for client-contractor relationship.

Green book

This is short form of contract. And also called as Mini Red book .This green book can be used for simple, small(Less than US$ 500,000.00),Repetitive, short duration(Less than 6 months) Engineering and building works.
Generally in design part completed by employer. But contractor may also design.

Red Book


Conditions of contract is important for construction works. These are included in FIDIC Red Book. Red book is used for building and engineering works. Elements are designed by employer and in some cases some elements are designed by contractor.

Pink Book


This will be provided conditions of contracts for building works and engineering works financed by MDB (Multilateral Development Banks Harmonized Edition).Design part will be conducted by Employer and some elements designed by contractor.

Yellow Book


Yellow book will provided condition of contract for design and build for electrical and mechanical plant for building and engineering works. Employer's requirements will be provided and designed by contractor. Some elements may be designed by employer.

Silver Book


Conditions of contract for EPC/Turnkey projects are included in FIDIC Silver book. Mainly used for process, power, private infrastructure projects. Design, procurement, construction, commissioning and hand over of facility by contractor to employer.

Gold Book


In the Gold book of FIDIC conditions of contract for design, build & operate projects are included. And also for green field projects having 20 year operation period and a single contract awarded to a single contracting entity. Here this may be a consortium or joint venture.

Orange Book


Conditions of contract for design-build projects and turnkey projects are included in FIDIC Orange book. This can be used for building and Engineering works. This includes contractors designs, builds & hands over a ready to run facility as per the requirements of employer.
