Imperial system and Metric system in Measurements
Imperial system and Metric system are different systems used to measure physical quantities. At the day to day life and industrial works the knowledge between these two systems is important.

What is Imperial system?
The British Imperial System was the official measuring system in United kingdom from 1824(By Weights and Measures Act 1824 ) and unto 1965.And before the countries adapting to metric system, imperial system was the popular system in the world. But measuring with imperial units are complicated than metric units. Hence, countries gradually withdrew from the imperial units.
What are the countries use Imperial system?
Currently many countries in the world has adapted to Metric system. Only three countries still using the Imperial System
United States , Liberia and Myanmar
What is Metric system?
The origin of metric system is French in 1975.With the time, the imperial system of lot of countries was replaced by the metric system.
Currently most of countries are using metric system excluding United States , Liberia and Myanmar.
Why the United States doesn't use metric units?
United states have huge manufacturing economy from industrial revolution begins in the country. Hence, adapting for a new measurement system is not easy for a huge industry like that. For that, a huge amount of money and time should be wasted. This is the main reason for not-adapting to metric systems by US.
How to Convert Metric Units to Imperial Units?

- 1 millimeters = 0.034 US fluid ounces
- 1 liter = 1 US quart (liquid)
- 1 meter = 39.37 inches (about 3 feet)
- 1 centimeter = 0.39 inches
- 1 millimeter = 0.039 inches
