CCTV (Closed Circuit Television)
What is a CCTV ?
CCTV is a TV (Television) system that signals are not distributed. But signals are monitored for surveillances and security purposes primarily.
As the shape there are most common two types of CCTV cameras
1.Bullet cameras
2.Dome cameras
According to the functioning method CCTV cameras has been divided into two types as analog cameras and IP cameras
Difference between Analog camera and IP camera
Analog camera :
This is traditional camera used in CCTV systems and it send observed video to DVR or NVR through cables.
IP camera
IP cameras are totally digital camera and it will send signals to store in networks through cables.
Difference between DVR and NVR
Both DVR and NVR record video data transmitted from security cameras.
DVR (Digital Video Recorder)
Digital Video Recorder used to convert and store the signals from analog cameras to the viewable digital format.
NVR (Network Video Recorder)
NVR typically only working with digital footages
What are factors which you should consider in CCTV installation ?
1.Brand
Many of the world class brands are available for CCTV systems in the market. You have to select one of them by analyzing previous records, experience, durability and warranties. Make sure accessories should be available in the market.
2.Quality (Resolution)of camera
Mainly resolution shall be used for measure quality of camera. The resolution will be indicated as pixels(Mega pixels).CCTV cameras are in different mega pixels and they are used for different purposes.
For general purposes two mega pixels' camera are suitable. In special cases(Ex:Money counting machines) five mega pixels' cameras or eight mega pixels' cameras can be used.
One Mega pixel cameras is not enough due to low resolution.
3.Distance to DVR from camera
The maximum length is 100m(328 feet) from IP camera to DVR.
