In search engine optimization, there are many methods and tools that help to rank your website in search engines. Building backlinks is a one of them.
What is backlink ?
Backlink is a link in another site (not in your site) that go back to a page on your site. Backlinks are called as inbound links also. Quality and quantity of backlinks which your website have will help to rank your website / blog site in search engines such as google, Bing.
Quantity of backlinks not help to you for ranking when they are not quality backlinks. Your backlinks should be quality and natural. Google prefer natural backlinks. If you are going to prepare more backlinks by yourself, google will not get them as natural backlinks. You should get backlinks from sites which trusted by google. This will be a natural process and if you are trying to get more backlinks without proper knowledge, it may be negative impact to ranking of your site.

For getting backlinks you should select a website with your subject. That's called as relevancy.
As an example, if your site is travelling site you should get backlinks from sites relevant to travelling. If you get a backlink from another type website like news, google will not consider it as quality backlink and it will not help to your website ranking.

Domain Authority
Domain Authority(DA) is a search engine ranking score which developed by Moz(SEO Software for Smarter Marketing) that predicts the rank of a website in search engine result pages(SERPs).It will give how successful site in search results.

If you are focus on google search engines your backlinks should be indexed in google.

Before building backlinks, you have to study more about it. there are some tools that help to build backlinks. But it is not a sustainable for your site.
